Mary Stratmann
Mary Stratmann focuses her commercial real estate practice on representing clients in connection with acquisitions and dispositions, development matters, entitlements, land use, leasing and financing for single-family, multi-family, commercial, retail, industrial and mixed-use projects. On behalf of her owner and developer clients, Mary routinely negotiates purchase and sale agreements, loan documents and leases and resolves complex title, development and construction issues for projects of all sizes.
Mary also has extensive experience representing tenants ranging from national retailers to mom-and-pop shops. By representing both landlords and tenants of a variety of sizes, Mary knows what matters most to her clients and is able to quickly and efficiently negotiate leases, subleases, amendments and other leasing documents for retail, restaurant, office and industrial spaces.
In addition to her transactional real estate practice, Mary also represents financial institutions in a wide variety of lending transactions with a focus on real estate loans for acquisition, development and construction of commercial real estate.
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Mary graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in English and obtained her law degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas. Mary is active in the Austin community and is a member of the Austin Bar Association, the Real Estate Council of Austin and the International Council of Shopping Centers. Through her work with the Junior League of Austin, Mary has volunteered hundreds of hours for local non-profit organizations such as Breakthrough Austin and the Austin Humane Society and has served in several leadership positions within the League.
When not engaged in one of her philanthropic endeavors, you can usually find Mary at a UT football game in the fall or hiking the greenbelt with her husband, Ben, and two Labradors, Rainey and Dixie.
